Survey BEFORE You Break Ground!

4/27/2022 (Permalink)

Family enjoying their backyard with tall trees. Before you break ground on a project, call a land surveyor to ensure you know where underground system lines are.

 Home Renovation Season

With the summer season among us, we are about to enter a time where people want to make renovations to their homes and, specifically, their yards. Tik Tok has given homeowners many ideas on optimizing their yard space, whether planters, inground BBQ station, or the recent trend of small garden ponds. When people start these DIY projects, they often forget the most essential part, Surveying their yards.

Surveying your land has many benefits, some of which you could suspect, but other reasons might not have crossed your mind. Here are some of the many reasons you should survey your land before you start a DIY project:

Clearly displays where underground cables or drains are located by marking the lines.

Knowing where the utility companies placed these underground wires will dictate where you can plant trees. You will also be the disliked neighbor in your neighborhood if you hit the water mainline or a sewage system.

Undocumented Cemeteries

This would be a fascinating occurrence, but it would be better for the surveyor to find it than when you're breaking ground on your pool. The team you hire to survey your land can accurately find any undocumented cemeteries.

Go Michele Go! CE Certified!

4/26/2022 (Permalink)

Michele teaching her first CE Class. Our team strives to be the best, and we achieve this by never being satisfied with the systems we have set into place.

Our team is unique because we are never satisfied with the systems we have implemented. This is why we are always wanting employee and customer feedback so that we can implement change to make the system run smoother. One of the goals we wanted to change was how we offer the CE Credits for our local franchise areas. Michele Presley, Business Development Manager, has been going through the training to be a SERVPRO HQ-approved CE Instructor.

Michele was nervous when she went to her "final exam," which entails a corporate contact watching her teach a CE Class to decide if she needed more training or if she passed. MICHELE DID AMAZING as she made the class more personable by creating demonstrations or thru her personal experiences. Her biggest concern was not boring the class, which wasn't a problem. She gauged the audience's reactions when she talked about specific topics.

When I spoke with Michele, I wanted to see her future goals with this program, and her first goal was to get all of our Marketing Representatives CE Certified. The information that you learn from this program teaches us concepts that make us better SERVPRO employees and a better reliable source for our clients. Her second goal is to have those certified CE instructors go to their local insurance agents to provide them with the opportunity to earn CE credits.

That is why you should choose our team at SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozarks. We are never satisfied, and we will implement new strategies to ensure we are operating effectively.

Man wiping down window in business If you want us to get your property spring ready, call SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozarks at (573) 346-7200!

With the beginning of spring right around the corner, we are excited about warmer weather and for Spring Cleaning Season! We aren't going to talk about the importance of a spring clean or the benefits it has on your immune system or for your overall health; if you want to learn more, please read more. At SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozarks, we believe in taking the more minor tasks off the list of things needed to get done. We can perform detailed cleanings for your home or business, as there are many benefits for getting your business Certified: SERVPRO Cleaned. Here are some of the services that our team of trained professionals can perform for your Spring Cleaning needs.

  1. Spring Allergins means HVAC Check-ups.

There are so many reasons why our team comes and checks up on your HVAC system during your Spring Cleaning Season. One of the most significant benefits is better overall air quality as the cleaned HVAC system can purify your home/business's air. Getting your HVAC system checked means the air is purged from pollen, pet dander, mold, and mildew. Let's get ahead of those seasonal spring allergies by having our team of trained professionals come and check out your HVAC system.

  1. General Cleaning/Disinfection

With the changing of seasons, we suggest having a general cleaning and even disinfection performed to rid your space completely of the winter bug that made its way through your home/business. Our team will come in and wipe down all high touched surfaces, and we will fog the air to ensure that it's free of last season's sickness.

  1. Flooring Restoration
    1. Tile/Marble Cleaning

Our team recently performed a tile floor cleaning at an old pizza restaurant that had 15+ years of grease damage. The floor required much extra loving as we had to penetrate the years of grease build-up. Our SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozarks' staff will have your tile flooring sparkling in no time.

  1. Hardwood Cleaning

Our clients don't think about hardwood floor maintenance because things are happening at a molecular level. For example, the glued-together fibers expand when it absorbs moisture in vapor or liquid form, which can cause the flooring to cup or crack. According to the National Wood Flooring Association, it highly suggests keeping your wood flooring between 60 and 80? and between 30 and 50% relative humidity year-round.

It's Spring Cleaning Season and let's get it started by taking this off your list. Our team at SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozarks is ready to get your home/business prepared for the change of the season.

Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certificate Trained

Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certified!

If you are reading, you have at least had time to go through our SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozark’s website, and you might have seen some acronyms that sound like a foreign language. One acronym that we use a lot is IICRC, which is stands for Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification, a certificate program that we have all production staff complete. SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozarks implements this program to ensure that our team receives the best guidelines for fire damage, water damage and microbial (mold) remediation. The IICRC developed these standards to provide quality concepts terminology and perform specific procedures used in the cleaning and restoration industry. Our leadership team is always looking for certifications to be implemented to ensure that we are constantly providing leading restoration processes. They also watch to make sure that all employees stay current. They don’t let this certificate expire because our franchises follow the same procedures to ensure they are consistent throughout the SERVPRO brand. This certificate also means that we know that our team is trained to be prepared and ready for whatever may happen.

Soda Blasting the Graffiti Away!

Man Soda Blasting a Wall If your home or business is affected by vandalism, call us at 573-346-7200!

Soda Blasting: Spray Paint Won't Stand A Chance

The unfortunate part about being a business owner is the role's responsibility. You have to constantly consider the far-out scenarios of what could happen to your business. One of those burdens is responding to destruction to the business property, such as vandalism. Let us reassure your business that we have the equipment needed to remove spray paint. We use Granite, an OK rock that can blast char or stain off of materials restoring it to the preloss condition. Our business has implemented two strategies when removing graffiti, wet or dry systems.

Wet System

Our team will implement the wet system when there is a need for abrasive solid power. We pride ourselves on our innovativeness in using environmentally friendly products that require some cleanup. This product allows us to use it both wet or dry depending on the surface we need to clean.

Dry System

The dry system is used mainly inside or in areas where we need to stay dry. Our wet system does get surfaces damp due to the process.

How It Works

When completing a soda blasting job, we will have our technicians dress with PPE to avoid the inhaling of dust particles. When they place the surface under negative pressure, it helps eliminate any dust particles that become air-born. If needed, we will then use an air scrubber that ducts the unit out of a window, making it possible for the airborne particles to escape. Once the particles are removed, we will clean the surface, ensuring it is detailed cleaned.

The team will then cover all vents and returns to help isolate the room from the HVAC system, requiring a duct cleaning once the work is completed. This extra step ensures no remaining fine dust particles spread throughout the facility. Finally, some areas may require shellac after the blasting is completed; this isisn'tlways needed.

If you are a business owner, we want you to take a deep breath and relax because you know who to call if you ever need our services. SERVPRO of Lake of the Ozarks has the equipment and expertise to help our clients with their needs.
